Welcome to ReUseVU, operated by ReUseVU Inc. ("ReUseVU," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ReUseVU web application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be a current Vanderbilt University student with a valid @vanderbilt.edu email address to use ReUseVU. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:
You may maintain only one account at any time. Creating multiple accounts is prohibited.
All users must verify their Vanderbilt email address through our PIN-based verification system. Access to the marketplace is restricted until verification is complete.
You are solely responsible for all activity conducted through your account, including listings you create and interactions with other users.
Accounts that remain inactive for 90 consecutive days may be suspended.
You may create listings with photos, descriptions, and pricing information ("User Content"). You represent and warrant that:
You grant ReUseVU a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, revocable license to host, store, display, and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and displaying the Service to other users. ReUseVU does not sell user content or use it for advertising outside the platform.
Listing images are stored on third-party servers (AWS S3) as part of normal operations.

Violation results in immediate suspension or ban.
ReUseVU does not process payments or facilitate transactions. All payment arrangements are made independently between buyers and sellers. We recommend cash transactions or trusted peer-to-peer payment services (Venmo, Cash App, etc.) conducted in person.
ReUseVU provides no buyer protection, seller protection, or refunds. All transactions are at your own risk.
Sellers are responsible for setting accurate prices. Items may be listed as "Free" or with a specific price. Once an item is sold, the seller is responsible for removing or updating the listing.
When meeting to exchange items:
ReUseVU is not responsible for the safety of in-person meetings or the condition of items sold through the platform.

ReUseVU makes no guarantee that all inappropriate content will be detected. Users are encouraged to report violations.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support.
ReUseVU may suspend or restrict your account at its discretion if you violate these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users. ReUseVU does not engage in discriminatory enforcement.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REUSEVU DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
REUSEVU SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR PERSONAL INJURY.
YOUR SOLE REMEDY IS TO STOP USING THE SERVICE.

Either party may bring claims in small claims court where permitted.
You waive any right to participate in class actions or representative proceedings. Disputes shall be resolved on an individual basis only.
ReUseVU may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
